Prevention
The importance of this area of dentistry cannot be overstated. Our mouth is a pathway to the rest of our body and dental conditions can affect our medical health. A healthy mouth can also lead to a healthier body. Our dental hygienist will teach you excellent prevention techniques as well as keep your teeth sparkling clean. Regular cleanings are an integral part of your dental health.

Oral Medicine
A specialty area of dentistry based upon a sound understanding of pathophysiology of oral disease and medical-dental relationships. We pride ourselves in understanding the nature and management of any diseases affecting your oral and maxillofacial region.

Oral Pathology
The inside of the mouth is normally lined up with special type of skin (mucosa) that is smooth and coral pink in color. Any alteration in this appearance could be a warning sign for a pathological process and this is where we come in - if you feel that you or someone you know have any of the symptoms of oral pathology or if you have any questions and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask our office so we may be of some assistance to you.

Biolase Dentistry
Lasers are replacing traditional tools in many areas of medicine nowadays, and dentistry is no exception. Unlike a drill, BIOLASE Technology's Waterlase® YSGG dental laser allows most procedures to be performed with no heat or vibration -- and no pain. Using a patented process called Hydrokinetics, the laser energizes a stream of water which then removes tissue with no need for a needle, drill or scalpel. The laser may be used for decay removal, cavity preparation, root canals, etching, and other bone and soft tissue procedures.
Benefits of laser dentistry over traditional methods can include:

  Reduced heat and vibration
  High precision
Little or no need for anesthetic
  Little or no bleeding
  Less post-operative pain and swelling
  Fewer pain medications/antibiotics
BIOLASE technology also allows several procedures to be performed during a single appointment by your own dentist, so you can be in-and-out of the office faster without referral to a specialist.

Veneers and Bonding
A thin layer of porcelain can be applied to the front of a tooth to dramatically improve its position, size, color and shape. These restorations can provide you with a permanent aesthetic solution in just two clinical appointments.

Chipped, stained, or worn teeth can be repaired by the application of a composite resin bonding material directly onto a tooth’s surface in just one visit.

Crowns
Crowns are similar to veneers except that they are placed over the entire tooth. These restorations are used to correct severe decay or to restore teeth that have had root canal therapy.

Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are used to replace large fillings or restore large cavities. They are usually made from resin material, porcelain or gold. Once placed, they are virtually undetectable in the mouth, and conserve much of your natural tooth structure.

Crowns, Inlays and Onlays usually take two
appointments to complete.

Bridges
These restorations, generally made of porcelain or porcelain and gold, are used to replace missing teeth. Bridges are supported by the teeth neighboring the missing tooth and are permanently cemented.

Dental Implants
Dental implants, are small prosthetic posts that are placed into the bone of the upper or lower jaw. They act as replacements for the root portion of lost natural teeth and also as an anchor for the replacement teeth. Dental implants look and feel like natural teeth. They are appropriate for almost anyone who is currently missing teeth or at risk for losing teeth.

In many situations, dental implants can give back patients their confident smile. The benefits are improved esthetics, the ability to eat comfortably and a clean, healthy oral environment for the patient.

There are many different types of implants available. Dr. Sanon has extensive experience in implants and would be pleased to discuss the benefits of implant prosthetics with you.

Periodontal (Gum) Treatment
Periodontal treatment is necessary when the gums become infected. Periodontal disease is the most prevalent disease in America. Four out of five adults have periodontal disease, to some extent. We promote non-surgical periodontal treatment using various hygienic and medicinal modalities with excellent success. However, should the severity of your periodontal disease warrant any surgery, we are able to perform that in our office.

Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy becomes necessary when there is very deep decay, a tooth fractures or a tooth becomes infected. Using many of the latest techniques, root canal is a highly successful treatment that can almost always be done very comfortably.
